I got something like that when I bought a cocktail shaker. I think you are supposed to hold it over the top of the shaker when you poor the drink out in order to keep the ice in. Maybe it serves some other purpose too, I'm more about drinking the cocktails than about making them.
@onewing@gardencat Maybe that's it then. We did get a cocktail set for a party a couple of years ago so it does make sense! Isn't it odd how we can have things in our kitchen but not know what they are?!
