Moon halo

We went up into the hills alerted by a possibility of seeing the Aurora Borealis. Nothing was happening on that front but there was instead this amazing phenomenon, apparently caused by the reflection of the moon's glow off ice crystals formed in the atmosphere. The cat and fiddle was a pub, now a distillery which lends its name to the road through the Peak District.
