The library of Kallio in Helsinki will celebrate its 100 years in 2012. The architect was Karl Hård af Segerstad. This library is the first in Finland which was paid for only with municipal money. No donators were needed this time.
These stairs lead to the cozy children's department.
By the way, kallio means the big solid rock we have under the earth - if there is any earth on it.. In Helsinki (and Finland) the rock can be seen in many places, like in the picture http://365project.org/annelis/365/2010-07-06
