I visited The Maya Exhibition at Didrichsen Art Museum in Helsinki. This plate is borrowed from the National Museum of Guatemala. It dates back to the Late Classic era, AD 550-830. The ceramic plate has a "kill hole" in the bottom - the soul of the plate had to be let out before it was put into a grave as an offering..
