Young Eastern Kingbird, New Mexico by annepann

Young Eastern Kingbird, New Mexico

You can tell this bird is very young because of the light colored skin at the corners of its mouth. Apparently, that yellow/orange helps the parents know where to place food when the birds are in the nest with their mouths open. I see a lot of these in Michigan, but liked this photo.
Wonderful capture!
