Happy Easter to all who celebrate it! I think this is going to be my year for photographing native spring wildflowers. Checked my local patch of skunk cabbage yesterday, and the leaves (curled on right) are starting to emerge as the flower (left) passes its peak. You can see the tiny flowers on the ball inside the hood. I have a good new book, "Spring Wildflowers of the Northeast" by Gracie to help me understand what I am seeing.
We used to see lots of this as a kid outside playing in the woods & near streams.....our kids miss so much of that today! Nice shot, Anne.....love the deep purple & green.
@mjmaven Thanks. The two places where I know it grows here are both where underground springs start to come to the surface. One feeds a marsh and another a creek.
