We added some landscaping last week and these daisies were part of the arrangement. The job turned out really well. It was an opportunity to practice my favorite technique, shallow depth of field. I still need to work on it; even though I'm pleased with this shot, I see other photographers getting a more dramatic result than this and I would like to try to achieve that.
I just noticed that the processing on this is a little sloppy! Sorry about that--I'll just go sit in the corner now.
I love the freshness of white daisies and this one is in a beautiful composition. I have just bought a new camera and will be trying to get shallow depth of field which I love to see when I can fathom out how to work it.
@wendyfrost Thank you, Wendy, for your comments are very much appreciated. All the best with your new camera--which one did you purchase? I ask because I'm in the market for a new camera as well but I'm not sure if I want to upgrade with another point and shoot or try the SLR. I'm not having too much luck with the creative modes of my current point and shoot and I'm starting to wonder if an SLR would be wasted on me.
@april16 Hello April I have bought a Canon EOS700D with an extra lens 55-250mm.It was cheaper to buy them separately than together in the box . Now to learn how to use it a bit nervous at the moment and of course I can't slip it into my handbag. I have took out extra accident insurance too just in case I drop it.
@wendyfrost The insurance is a good idea! I dropped my camera once, now all of my photos are blurry--ha ha--the poor workman blames his tools! Anyway, best of luck with your beautiful new camera. I wish you many fun-filled hours of photography opportunities. I think that I mentioned to you that I'm thinking of upgrading but I'm unsure if I should graduate to an SLR. I'm finding the creative settings on my point and shoot so frustrating--I'd hate to lose interest in my photography because I got too frustrated with the SLR. Let me know how you enjoy your new Canon!
