After intending for years to properly go on the amazing pier in Southend today I had a chance. Only to find it is closed Monday's & Tuesday's in winter! :-(
I settled for a chilly walk on the beach instead. Believe it or not the pier in the foreground isn't the real thing... If you squint you'll see the real thing, stretching out into the sea. It's so long that it has a train to take people to the restaurant at the end!
