My neighbor kept their Christmas hambone in the freezer for me to make split pea soup. The other day I picked it up and brought it home to thaw in my fridge. I went to make the soup and he had given me a turkey carcass by mistake. Well, it was already thawed and I don’t care for turkey soup, so yesterday we swapped...he made turkey soup and I got the hambone and it smells wonderful in here! Looks like there is enough meat for a few sandwiches too!

2. A good day for soup, with wind chill it was -18F (-28C) this morning
