This line of turkeys took forever to cross the road, the last couple kept turning back despite stopped traffic. They finally got their act together and toddled off into the woods. Three good things:
1. The snow has stopped
2. This flock can usually be seen along this stretch of road, but I have never seen one that didn’t make it
3. These did not become our national bird
I had to laugh when I saw this as when I first went to NZ & saw wild turkeys in the fields I was saying to our son there’s your Christmas dinner….he laughed & said no mum they are full of worms! I don’t think turkey is that popular in NZ somehow!
