I apologize for not really even trying to keep up with photography this month. When I do, things have gone weird. This is about three, maybe four, jelly fish photos smashed together. I actually have taken several new photos but they haven't even left the camera yet! I'll get there...
@kali66 thanx for the link. I knew that a book was being written about him and I kinda forgot about that, so it reminds me to check it out. I don't think that I'd ask anything, I'd just listen. I still listen to his music always,
always with a lump in the throat somehow. his music is so very moving, the lilt of his guitar , the lyrics, his voice isnt even that great, but its authentic. i think thats what it is.
@kali66 he was the modern day Bob Dylan. He didn't have the greatest range in voice, but, man, his words and feeling were so genuine that it superseded what is expected in a singer . I mean, c'mon, who can not listen to this guy and not feel something inside? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OCQqAPTSGc
ah Krista , that is one of my Halil songs and i cant help sobbing when i hear it.
Bob Dylan has nothing on Jason Molina, he is good at storytelling and stringing intriguing phrases together to fascinate and carry his audience along on a mystifying journey, but its totally cerebral , his drawl was at one time very piercing and just so weird it worked. but he has the emotional depth of a newt lol
@kali66 speaking of words and meaning, does Halil mean anything? I never heard that name before and it is worthy that a Jason Molina song reminds you of Halil as only a deep artist can do such a thing.
there is a story to the name, Will, my partner, had a vivid dream of a baby girl being born and wanted to name her Lilah , when he was born I turned that name around to be Halil, not knowing that in Turkish it means faithful friend and in Hebrew it means flute.
ironic actually , as Halil never had much of a chance to make friends when he was young, as we homeschooled and there were no kids his age around our neighbourhood and he was not musical at all!
what would you have asked?
