Yea! I finally rained after 104 days of no rain.
We totally needed it.
I took this pic with a Canon pancake lens that I rarely use. I just don't like the way it takes "soft" pictures. I was in the process of posting it for sale. Does anyone else use the Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM lens? Curious to learn what other people's opinions are.
Does this image look blurry/soft? And do the colors look super fake? Or is it just my eyes?
all cameras and lenses have their own personalities, i get frustrated with the colours on my canon 450d they never translate as i see them. softness you either like or you dont, but at the resolution i am seeing it on my laptop screen i cant tell if its soft or not, i think sharpness is overrated!
having rain after so long must be quite a relief, all the plants will slurp it up. we have the opposite problem, in spring especially we have some precipitation most days, when the sun comes out the plants droop for a bit, and so do i!
The green is so appealing! It really looks like the vegetation perked up.
But my opinion is if you think you should like something but you don't, and you've given it enough chances, it's time to let it go. Even if the result is good, like this photo, if you don't like the result then you won't enjoy it and someone else can love it.
Of course, tell me that when I'm trying on clothes that I "should like"... 😂
It is a wide lens so maybe this is what gives you the feeling of a soft image. I don't see it as particularly soft in your image. The colors are nice and bold. I love this garden so lush, in Arizona it's rare.
I don't have an issue with the 'sharpness' here but yes, the greens are perhaps a tad overstated but that's a fault with many (most?) digital cameras and is easily rectified in post.
First of all I think this is a beautiful garden, with nice structure and dots of color all around. The colors are vivid but I like that too, and that is probably due to the way the camera processes the image rather than the lens.
