Huge barrel cactus

The Santa Rita Mountains is home to some of the largest barrel cacti that I have ever seen! The ones I usually see are never any taller than my ankles. They can live to well over 100 years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrel_cactus
It's a beauty and a lovely shot!

That looks very prickly. Is it correct that you can cut cacti to get water to drink?

@delboy207 I actually have experience answering this question...I got lost overnight in a Nevada desert once. In June. Without water. For 22 hours. I knocked some arms off of some small cacti with the thought that there would be water in them, but they were dry. I'm sure that if you'd slice open this lovely barrel cactus that there would be water in it, but then that would be cactus murder.
