I didn't know that lemons started out green but I guess a lot of fruit does before reaching maturity.

@cwbill It is! Out of the 5 or 6 citrus trees that I planted over 10 years, this is the only one that took off.

Just commenting here too... Mine are definitely limes. There are more types and I am able to see and buy several in the grocery store here. Next to the difference in taste, to me main difference is in their skin. Lemons have a thicker skin and the lime skin is smoother. Also lemon-yellow is a lot brighter than lime-yellow and in general limes are smaller.

@ingrid01 so interesting. We never see yellow limes here. You can see how thick the skin is even when a lemon is so young.
