Chinese Water Torture by bradsworld

Chinese Water Torture

Well, Japanese, actually. This is a Kyoto Cold Brew coffee maker at Portola Coffee Lab. http://portolacoffeelab.com/main/art-of-brewing/#kyoto

The cold water hits the ground coffee a drop at a time and takes 8-10 hours to brew a full carafe.
It would be torture waiting that long for a cup of coffee. Cool shot.

@ellen While not as esoteric or painstaking, you can make delicious cold-brewed coffee at home with a toddy maker: http://www.toddycafe.com/shop/product.php?productId=67 The toddy is used as a base for cold drinks or with hot water added, makes a delicious low-acid cup of coffee. I worked in a coffee house many moons ago, and we used to drink the toddy with half and half. Pretty potent. :)

@kerristephens @cjwhite - They have other cool brewing methods as well, and they roast their own beans. Geeky & delicious. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. :)

Maybe by the time it's done brewing the iPhone 5 will be released :). I thought of you today when Apple shared the specs on the new camera inside the 4s this morning.

Looks more like a chemistry lab than a coffee shop. Was there a long queue?

I can't wait 5 minutes for my morning coffee--this contraption would be torture for me to wait 8-10 hours! I would go back to sleep! This shot is perfect for the theme! :-)

Interesting! At first I was trying to work out how you used an alchemist's lab in making TV commercials?? LOL! I LOVE the green in this!

If it came with a rolling stand,
It would make a nice I.V. drip.
