Memorial BBQ

I took a lot of photos today for the bbq which was in honour of my sister in law who passed a year ago. But I really like this photo. These guys are new parents. Mike on the left is my nephew and father to a nine month old. Patrick on the right has a three month old baby. Their partners are next to them. They're discussing the injustices of mothers at home with the baby versus fathers going out to work. I was trying to play devil's advocate. The fathers are saying that it's unfair of them to be at work all day and as soon as they step in their partners say that they need to take over the baby duties. The dads need to rest too. The mums are saying that they've been at home with the baby all day and that they need a break. I can understand both sides of the stories. The monotony of looking after the baby and not speaking to an adult all day is tough. You don't always sleep when the baby sleeps as you just need a moment to yourself. However, the dad's need to be able to come home, get something to eat first and have a bit of time for themselves before they take over the fatherly duties. It's not easy for both sides so they have to come to a happy medium.
The sense of conversation is very strong in this. Great capture.
