It’s the day before Christmas Eve and the family have descended on my mums to pick up our coconut turnovers and fruit cake. For the first time I’ve asked my mum for her cake recipe. She asks if I’m asking her in case the recipe dies with her. Hell yeah I say. So she proceeds to relay the recipe but as she doesn’t weigh anything and she bakes in bulk. And the cakes that she bakes are huge. One of these days I may try it but until then, I’m just going to enjoy the fruits of her labour.
