As we were leaving the wedding my niece gave me this precious gift. unfortunately the camera does not see as I do. tried many different ways but this is the best I could do. has anyone an idea of how to get something this transparent and colorful to come out better?
Robert Held is the artist of this uniques piece. and here is what he says:
"a unique design created using techniques developed over 2000 years ago. this piece began as molten glass gathered onto the end of a "blowpipe" .. coloured glass containing minerals such as copper, cobalt or gold is added to create this final decoration. the glass is then both mouth-blown into its final shape. after being gradually annealed (cooled), the glass is ground, polished and signed. this finished piece of art is now ready to grace your home. treasure and enjoy."
and that's what I'm going to do.
there are lovely poppies in front and underneath a golden color with the top being blue as the sky.
i take photos of my fish tanks all the time, which are glass. i take them from an angle, do not use the flash, and they come out crystal clear. perhaps that might work?
By what you telling I think its a great piece of art . You know I do love glassart .
