OUR TRIP

As may of my followers already know we live at the Bay of Lake Simcoe. yesterday we decided to drive to the other end of the lake to a town called Orillia. its about a 80 km drive (if you go around the lake it would take 180 km to get back home to Keswick). once you approach the lake you drive over a bridge where Lake Simcoe is on one side and Lake Couchiching on the other. these two lakes are joined by a narrow channel. I don't have a picture of it as it would have to be taken from the air. we love to visit Orillia at least once during the summer... strolling the boardwalk, watching the boats come and go and also enjoying the wild life in the park. the large marina is on the other end where we once enjoyed enjoyedd a special festivity.. "Christmas in June". (picture posted June or July 2010) the bottom middle picture shows a walking trail called Lightfoot Trail which is 5 km long..we have never walked it all the way as you have to walk it back as well. the town itself is quite unique. it has lots of restaurants, boutiques, a theather and a famous bakery where everything is made on the premisis. they have so many samples to try.. may it be their delicious cakes and pies or bread with home made marmelade or jelly on the side, bread to dunk into various sauces.. (all home made) downstairs you can purchase home made cndies, chokolates an many more treats. I do know why Hans likes to go there. anyway we also enjoyed a delicious lunch, the only problem there is to find a seat as they are so busy. btw its called the Mariposa Market ..we know it under "Apple Annie". do enjoy the pictures.

You made a really nice collage of your trip and the description sounds so inviting. I think I'm with Hans as far as the candy goes, but the bakery sounds delicious too! Glad you had such a nice visit.
