Well I'll tell you. I've gone up the one and only step to our backyard deck a thousand times over the 28 years that we live here but yesterday I had the misfortune not to see that our tenant who's livingroom faces this deck had put a very heavy mini Chinise pegoda on the deck and when I stepped up I bumped my foot against it. the pain was not too bad then so I continued my work hanging up the wash to dry outside. later I stood for quite awhile preparing plums for a plumb cake instead of listening to my husband's advise to put ice on it. well it swelled up and after the cake was done I did just that and rested on the couch. later my daugher and fiance' dropped in unexpectedly, brought some steaks for Hans to BBQ. Grace prepared all the rest for our meal and let her mommy relax. now I'm so behind in posting and in my commenting..will try to catch up by tomorrow. hope all of you are still enjoy your weekend.
So sorry about your injury. Why would your neighbor have put a pagoda on your deck. I have had several unexpected toe and foot injuries and they seem to continue hurting for weeks. I hope yours heals faster than that.
@allie912 Allison it's our home and we have a tenant as I said in my comment and his LR is to the back of the house where we used to have a clothline..we took it off when he moved in over five years ago and in conversation one day he said it would be nice to be able to dry some wash outside on a nice sunny day. I had missed doing it also. well Hans put the line back up and I was in the process of going on to his deck with my basket in my left arm resting on my hip when I didn't see that he had put some stuff outside..he was getting ready for a garage sale..totally my fault for not looking where I was going.
I am sorry to hear that this happened to you and glad it was not worse. So nice that you were able to put it up and have dinner made while you rested. Take care of you. You need to listen to Hans next time and put it up and ice it right away. I have learned the hard way with my neck.
Oh Bruni, poor you! I really hope you make a speedy recovery! Every cloud has a silver lining - you won't be bored during your rest period thanks to 365!
I just saw this today, Bruni ...these things happen so quickly, I know. You should have listened to Hans, but like me, you just keep on going. (We're so much alike!) When I fell and twisted my knee last Winter, I ended up in ER that night with a hugely swollen leg. It still has some swelling and never healed quickly. I HOPE that yours is healed and all is well by now.
@karenann Uh you twisted your knee now that must've hurt.. I'm not in pain anymore when I walk or stand on it but it still swells up during the day but goes down while I sleep. now this happend last Saturday so it might be too soon for the swelling to disappear completely. I would feel foolish going to see my doctor at this late date.. I know what he'll say.."it takes time". thank you so much my friend for caring.
t hurt anymore when I step on it.
