Decorating a plain wall by bruni

Decorating a plain wall

It looks like I'm coming down with a cold. my own fault as we didn't make our onion concoction this fall. Hans had the flu and I was so glad I didn't get it.. but now I've the sniffles and a bit of a sore throat. so I wasn't feeling too hot yesterday. last night I took a shot glass of Overproof Rum and a bit of lemon extract and got it down in 3 little sips and off to bed. feeling a bit better this morning.
I did go yesterday to check with our Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacist and he said not to take any medication to staff it off. let nature take it's course. just make sure you take your temperature and as long as you don't come down with a fever you're ok. now to the picture I posted. this is the sidewall of our fairly new drugstore. it has four of these pictures. these two show pictures of our town of days gone by. the other two (which I didn't take pictures of) are from the next town over which doesn't have a Shoppers Drug Store.
I hope you feel better soon!

Nice vintage pictures, Bruni!

I love it when places use old vintage pictures to decorate. We have a few spots in Edmonton that do the same thing

A nice composition - the old shots are fascinating, and do a good job of breaking up the monotony of a large area of bare brick walls.

It is always interesting to see photos of the building as it once was in days gone by...I guess us older folks appreciate that more....Hope you are feeling better soon!

They are saying here now that also vitamin-D is important almost in every thing and we are getting too little it in these parts of lesser sunlight in our world . So, take also vitamin- D :)
Exciting photo in your post today!

My prescription against a flue. : use the juice of a whole citron , a spoon of honey , a good glass of Jenever ( Gin ) stir together in a big glass with boiling hot water and drink it as hot as possible . We call this a Grog. And go to bed for a good night sleep.

Lovely old pictures.

@pyrrhula Yes Purrhula we call it a Grog too..you can also make with red wine..I too an Overproof Rum with some line juice and went to bed. I'm a lot better today..so will do it again tonight. by tomorrow I should be fine. thanks for the tip.

There are definitely some interesting home remedies out there. My friend Judy makes a mixture of local honey, Bragg's apple cider vinegar (it has to be that particular brand) and garlic cloves. This is a great way for your drugstore to decorate- connects them to the community. Nice capture.

Well around here it has been a nasty flu season so far, so you take care and be sure to drink plenty of fluids.

I sure hope you are feeling a lot better. Good advice from your Pharmacist. Sounds like you took the perfect remedy. I love this shot, Bruni. Nothing like the old photos of the town for everyone to enjoy. Great idea.

@darsphotos Thank you Darlene..Yes I'm better. no more sniffles or sore throat. but to make 100% sure I'll have the same stuff one more time for good measures..so it's almost time for my little drinky. when I skype with Hans and tell him he calls me a lush as I usually do not drink, especially not since I take heart meds. you read about that some of my medications are reduced in 1/2 the amount I used to take and feeling good.
