I've a few more pictures from Hans to share with you. I remember seeing these iguanas when we were in Cancun the last time so Hans thought I might like to have a new picture of them.
QUESTION: How can you tell a female from a male?
this is what I gathered from the internet.
It may be nearly impossible to determine if a young or baby Iguana is a male or a female. Pseudo females do occur. This means that a male may appear for all practical evaluation to be a female when in fact it is a male. The reason for this is simple. If a young male appears to be a female a large dominant male will allow it to remain in the larger iguanas territory. Mature males DO NOT allow rival males in their territory!
Wow! Hans is helping you with your 365!! LOL ... Great shot! Very big iguana! I'd not get too close! Tell Hans thanks for the great photos! I know how much you must miss him.
@espyetta No MaryBeth. I should've been but due to my heart problem I opted out but insisted that my husband should go as everything was paid for over 6 month ago including of course our flights. we've been there before and I experience it by talking to him twice a day on skype and the many pictures he e-mails me. it's almost like beeing there but with out the gorgeous sunshine..I miss it as it's lousy cold here. I'm sharing some of the pictures he sends. thank you for inquiring and for your nice comment.
