As close as I can come to a hoar frost. by bruni

As close as I can come to a hoar frost.

I think it's time for me to post a picture but I'm sure Hans will come up with a few more before he's coming home on February the 2nd.
so now to my picture. when I opened the blinds in front of our deck this morning this is what I saw between the two sliding doors. this morning's weather forecast was for -19 Celsius (you see it got a bit warmer) and 66 % humidity and since the humidity is so low in our home (only 35) I had a huge kettle of water boiling and it steamed up all the windows including the sliding door. humidity got inbetween the double doors and it formed this beautiful pattern.
Beautiful patterns

It is always interesting to see these ice patterns. They can be stars or flowers or sticks like yours - always beautiful though.

@monicac Oh yes Monica -19 C is an improvement from -24 with a windshield factor of -28-30.. Tonight after coming home from shopping I noticed the beautiful evening sky down by the lake. I left the car in the driveway and walked down to the lake just in time to get some shots of - hope they will turn out ok so I can post one tomorrow.

@digitalrn Sorry Rick but I don't get it.. I was talking about the humidity in our home being too low and what happened after I boiled a kettle of water a few times to bring humidity up when I noticed the patio door patterns.
