New City Hall, Toronto by bruni

New City Hall, Toronto

Do you remember the picture I posted of Toronto's Old City Hall?
http://365project.org/bruni/365/2013-01-11
Today I took a picture of the New City Hall or plain City Hall.
the follow is a quote from the internet: "Toronto's City Hall with its curved twin towers rising in stately fashion above the domed Council Chamber, with the plaza, "Nathan Phillips Square" in front is a popular tourist attraction."
Nathan Phillip Square is lively gathering place especially in the summer with many daily activities and as you can see here, ice skating in the winter.
it was extremely cold today but there was still a fairly good crowd of people enjoying the sunny afternoon. I guess when you skate and are dressed warm you're ok.
another picture of the skating rink in my album # 2.

@gijsje Yes Bep it is a very modern architecture but I would prefer the Old City Hall unfortunately it became too small for the ever growing city of Toronto.

@bkbinthecity Yes unfortunately there is very little space for outside activities right in the heart of the city. thank you for for comment, also so welcomed.

@bruni Yes I now live in B.C. since 1973...but I was raised in Ontario. Near the town of Alliston. Actually lived on a farm just outside of Beeton. I still return to that area as I have friends and relatives still living in that area. I did live in Don Mills after I graduated for a short time.

It's an impressive piece of modern architecture, but like many others, I tend to like the older more majestic style of building. Nice capture though- and the ice skating looks fun.
