I persuaded Hans to take me to our York Regional Forest only 10 minutes drive away from home. the sun was out and it looked so inviting through the window but once we got outside it was bitter cold. since we were bundled up we thought why not give it a try. after a half hour walk in the snow where you had to go slow we were totally windblown and cold. I managed three pictures before my hands were almost frostbitten. we finished that particular trail and headed back to the car. the forest is huge. one trail leads into another. you can spend hours hiking, just watch out for the bikers. this Brown Hill Tract as they call it has about 10 miles of trails for the mountain biker of various ability. in the Spring and of course Summer and Fall it is very beautiful there as it is in the Winter if it had been plus instead of minus 8 degrees with a windshield factor of minus 19. oh well we tried..nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.
