Inukshuk by bruni

Inukshuk

Inuksuit are stone men you find throughout Canada. I knew of this one standing on the property of a company located adjacent to a walking trail at Fairy Lake in Newmarket.
today on our outing Hans and I stopped and I took a some pictures of it. as you can see there is a plague in front of this Inukshuk which thanked two students by the name of Luke Ayaligak and Juanisi Jaw from Nunavut for constructing a Inukshuk to commemorate their visits to the Town of Newmarket at Fairy Lake Summer 2002.

These incredible pieces of art are not just piles of stones but figures holding spirit, sacred meaning and direction.
I love this idea and your great photo.
