Yesterday Hans and I went on a hiking trip through a leaf forest. We started out at the Muengstener Bridge which ties Remscheid and Solingen and hiked to the castle Schloss Burg in Underburg. Schloss Burg and the whole area of Bergisches Land are named after the Graf von Berg. After almost a two hour hike, more up than down we finally reached Underburg.on the way I took a lot of pictures so that my camera went dead.the batterie ran out and no spare. Hans carried the heavy Canon with the 75 to 300 mm around his neck and I had my P\S, so we didn’t bother with the smaller lens. While having our lunch at one of the restaurants below the Schloss Burg we decided that it was no use to go up to the Burg by chair lift but rather come a second time, only this time by car to look around the Burg and take pictures. Now of course we had to return to where we parked our car and this time we decided to walk on the other side of the River Wupper where the terrain was almost flat. Not as picturesque, but we made it back in less than 1 and 1\2 hour. Not being used to all this climbing, I was surprised I made it. From where we walked we could look across to the hilly area and I was glad we didn't had to return the same route. It was fun and i would do it again.
That's quite the hike! I couldn't walk even a half hour before seizing up! This is a lovely shot, Bruni. I love how the building is surround by trees. Wonderful color of green. Nice job.
