Yesterday we witnessed the worst thunderstorm ever. |Hans and I were both watching the rain from standing in open windows and watched the water rush down the street. the house here is on a bit of a hill. now his niece`s home is two houses down across from her mom`s. here garage was flooded and her car, parked on the road with one window open, soaked. by the time she noticed, it was too late really to do anything but close the window and hope for the best that it would start. we watched her from the open window when all of a sudden we heard the thunder and lightning
simultaneously. it was the loudest sound I`ve ever heard. I tried to plug my ears real quick and jumped back from the window. the power went out, internet and phone line - which runs over internet - was out for more than 12 hours.
We had one of those dreadful storms on Tuesday. It brought to mind the old-fashioned term, "gullywasher." Your blurred image really captures the overflow of rain.
@Gerry yes, Gerry and the weather doesn't look promising. we're leaving for Holland tomorrow morning and the weather forecast there isn`t the greatest either. thank you for your comment.
@jenrobcarr Jennifer..we haven`t heard the news yet... it got late tonight after the Birthday party and 365 couldn`t wait. Hans went right away to bed so we will check in tomorrow before we leave for Holland.
Wow, what a storm and a lot of rain, Bruni. I hope that the homes and car are ok and that it has calmed down now. Too bad about the power outage. I hope you have wonderful weather in Holland and had a good trip. It was 100 today, cool down tomorrow and will be 68 on Monday and rain all day. A crazy Summer for us so far.
