No-Mow Zone by bruni

No-Mow Zone

The last time we visited Fairy Lake I noticed this new sign. it's in an area of the park adjacent to a road. notice the homes and the yellow school bus at the far end.
the sign reads as follows:

By allowing the grass and natural vegetation to grow, we are:

- Increasing habitat for insects and wildlife
- Saving energy and reducing CO2 emission by
not using mowers and equipment
- Promoting sustainable landscapes
- Encouraging native plant growth
- Reducing facility maintenance cost.
It does look pretty.to the right of it you see a channel coming of the man made lake. will post this in album 2.
What a good idea. A super capture.

My dear brother did this years ago. He let the grass grow whole summer and on comments he replay; this is how grass should be in a natural state. Not cut by one inch. In autumn the neighbour gets the hay. By the way , in his front garden . A beautiful place , beautiful captured

What a great idea. With all the land we have taken from what we actually need to live, the basics, more should do this, if only we had the rain to have this happen. Every area was becoming like as it started growing this year but had to be mowed down as it dried up like hay this. Wonderful photo, Bruni. FAV

great idea, and great shot. My only worry would be it would also give shelter to snakes - but then I tend to be a bit phobic about snakes.

Nice shot, Bruni! Love that they are doing this! There needs to be more places doing it!! Save the planet and stop building stuff over our natural resources! This is lovely. All the green and vegetation is a nice sight. Well done :)
