and except for a bit of swelling and bruising on my neck I'm feeling great. both procedures were done on the same day. the TEE or TOE as it's called in the UK went a lot better than last time. I guess this time I was a bit more sedated. the actual ablation procedure lasted only a little more than two hours and the bruising and swelling of my neck is not painful..so I'm ok. thank you all for wishing me the best and a speedy recovery.
@maggie2 Thank you for your lovely comment, Margaret. Yes I had my first heart operation/ablation in October of 2012 and had two more episodes shortly after. took a before and after pictures then as as well. http://365project.org/bruni/365/2012-11-11. I was almost fine for a year and then had two more atrial fibrillation episodes. so this time they found out by mapping where the leakage is and fixed it all up. so I should be fine. at least now the success rate has gone up from 50% to 70%. time will tell.
So glad you are home and all went even better than last time. Thoughts are with you as you completely recover. Glad to see that the success rate has gone up so much, Bruni. Hugs to you!
So glad you are back home, Bruni! Very glad to hear it all went well, too!! I'm sure the swelling will go down fast. Rest as much as you need to, though. Don't overdo stuff. Just glad to see you are home. I was starting to worry! Welcome home! And you're still lovely! :)
@prttblues Thanks Bev. you should see it now, I'm black, blue, green and it seeping down below my breast. Doctor says that that is good, it's a sign of healing. also it's much more swollen now..so I wear a scarf around my neck. the main thing is that I feel good otherwise compared to what I went through last year.
@bruni That would scare the crap out of me if I saw that!! Glad that it's healing. If it itches, don't scratch! That is also a sign of healing. More swollen??? :( Scarfs work - especially with the colder temps. I'm so glad you feel good and better than last year.
