Daddy Long Legs by bruni

Daddy Long Legs

I saw this spider on a leaf of my peony plant. it was walking from one leaf to another. at one time, when I got too close, two legs came up as if he was trying to attack my camera. it looks like as if his legs are drawing some shadows on the leaves.
A super shot.

That's a big Daddy Long Legs!!! I would have run away very quickly, especially if he reared up on you! You are brave :)

Oh my!! Great catch! I hate spiders - including Daddy Long Legs, but you did great capturing the detail and its shadow on the leaves (which are wicked vibrant, by the way!). Well done Bruni :)

These are officially called Harvestmen. And I also found out that we call them spiders, but they are not. I have noticed that (and was just doing so again two days ago when shooting one) thing they do with their legs. They sense us standing there, and they put out those legs I guess as feelers or to protect themselves. I would see an "opening" to shoot through the legs, but when I would move to that, the leg would POP over and wave in my lens. So funny! Great job on this one
