Hidden treasure

I thought I should take a picture of this humungous tree trunk before they come back to take the tree down and this is what I found in the crotch of the tree. I had to go behind the garden shed to the lot line and squeeze in as it's very tight there and only then did I see the fungi.
Super shot. Fav

They look almost like river cobbles. At first I though the tree had been through a flood that deposited them. Great find.

Oh, they are going to lose their comfy spot!

Nice shot, Bruni. I tried to capture the fungi growing in our lawn but so blurry. You did really well on this one. They look like those in our lawn.

@bruni You are very welcome, Bruni. You take some beautiful photos. I feel so bad that I get behind but do not forget about you and have to play catch up too much. Thank you for that bit of info too. I will try sport setting on my camera. Too dark now but tomorrow. Still have mushrooms in our lawn. Oh darn, our gardener was here so they may be gone now. Next time if they are.
