A spider? but I'm not scared

....I'm scared though of not knowing what I did to my ankle. I injured the same ankle in 2012 when I bumped into a heavy object and it took for ever for the swelling to come down. this time I've no idea what happened, but the ankle is swollen again and ever so painful. after waiting a few weeks for the swelling to go down, I finally went to the doctor. an X-ray was called for and was told to elevate the foot as much as possible. easier said then done.
Cool shot

Well, this mangled mess of a macro is a pretty good metaphor for your ankle it seems. Sit down and breathe easy. Put your feet up. Get well.

This is a great close up of this spider! I'm so sorry to hear about your ankle :(

It looks like it might be a spider, but I'm not 100% on that as it has far too many legs. Spiders have 8. This thing has 13 and something that looks like a stick or twig sticking out from it. But then again - I am no spider expert whatsoever because I normally run from them!! Great shot of whatever it is though. You did well capturing the detail. It is definitely creepy looking!! Now you better stay off that ankle! Rest it and elevate as much as possible and if you need to, use crutches so as not to put weight on it. I am having knee issues at the moment and my back has flared up bad which is why I have uploaded several days of photos at one time in the past week. That and lack of sleep due to being woken up by construction workers at ungodly hours in the morning because they are redoing windows and cabinetry in vacant units and I happen to be next to one that the tenant just moved out of so there is a lot of hammering, sawing, whirring and banging going on!

@prttblues Oh Dear..that would certainly disturb your sleep. I had some sleepless nights. switched to a different brand of decaffeinated coffee, tastes better, but must still have too much caffeine in it and I sleep restless on account of the ankle as well. I was of dedicating this picture to you. this would be one spider you wouldn't be afraid of. you're absolutely right, too many legs. make your own conclusion for now.

@bruni Awww... thank you for the kind thought of dedicating it to me! I might not have been afraid of it as it would be like a daddy long leg. I think. !

That sounds painful. I hope it is nothing serious. Perhaps a sprain of sorts.

@prttblues That is what I thought too.

A neatly created spider - but not one that would chase anyone! I hope the ankle is better soon.

Nicely creepy "spider"! I am so sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope you'll find out what it is soon. I know about the elevation aspect. I'm supposed to keep mine up too- but that usually ends up hurting my back so I tend to keep it down. Do your best if it helps!!

The famous "Stick Spider!" Haha Sorry about your ankle!

Just learned of a colleague who discovered, after being in great pain for 3 weeks, that her stress fracture was indeed a complete break in her 3rd metatarsal and she will be on crutches for 8-12 weeks. Hope your diagnosis is less dire.

@allie912 I saw my doctor today regarding the results fro the X-ray. it's a bone spur. I asked what can be done and he said not much. so I have to hope the swelling will go down? his replay was yes. not quite happy about that. tomorrow I meet with a exercise specialist to see what his opinion is on this matter. keep you informed.
