Refraction, refection or a shadow, what do you see?

Hans, my husband who isn't feeling good at the moment, woke up from a little nap and saw this on the living room ceiling. He pointed it out to me and of course, I had to snap a picture.
Beside the birds around our feeders, there isn't much to take pictures of. the snow is starting to melt as the temperature has climbed to 45 degree F. and that is outside on the deck in the shade.

@cejaanderson Thank you Jane. I can't figure where it gets that shape. the light it's coming through our dining room sliding doors travelling through the open frame (no door) into the living room. I'm really puzzled.
