Never ending construction

Today I had to go too Newmarket on an errand, so I got onto the 404 Highway to Newmaket exist Davis Drive and all the way down on this road to the corner of Davis Drive to Yonge Street. Yonge Street used to be the longest street in the world.

you can click on this link to read up on it.

here you see cars maneuvering from a left lane to a right lane and back again, slowing down at each construction site and picking up again till you hit the next construction one in the road, but all in all it wasn't too bad. there were not too many places where you had to stop to let heavy machinery pass through, which always holds up the flow. I actually made good time to reach my destination.
I think about my small town's wide open streets with no electricity lines, rows of big trees and thank my lucky stars, I don't have to navigate scenes like this! How interesting about Yonge, the Longe Street!

@maggiemae I live in a smaller town and also in the old part of town with huge trees all around and only five houses away from the lake... it's more like country living.

That looks like downtown Edmonton right now

Nice shot. What a nightmare for traffic to have all this construction! But - it is that season, isn't it?

Must be a nightmare for travel.

My biggest nightmare, having to drive in heavy traffic. Interesting fact about the street being the longest in the world. Is it still?

@prttblues The construction on this particular road is already underway for years. it used to be one lane each side and now it's two lane with a bus lane in the middle. houses had to be set back on certain properties, two bridges were redone to go over the new lanes. who knows when it will all be done. I've posted pictures before. our hospital is on that street and you know how often I had to go there as well as doctors offices.

@shirleybankfarm As far as I know. but don't confuse it, I just mentioned Yonge Street, the construction is on a different road.
