I watched this youngster fly to our tree trying to hold onto the tree bark to start pecking away but he couldn't quite make it yet. he flapped down on a branch, but the picture was almost unrecognizable with his head down...just a big blotch for feathers, so I picked different picture where he is a little more alert.
