Oct 28: 'Matte' v2 by bulldog

Oct 28: 'Matte' v2

Sunday morning and me & Mrs Bulldog went for a walking up the hills behind her dads house.
We were quite surprised to see that they had felled an entire forest of Pine (something they do every 10-20 years), but this did mean the views were stunning.
This shot is of the River Tay valley and you can see the Tay in the centre, just underneath the 'Matte' sky.

A lovely view. I think that large parts of felled pine forest are being replanted with the old indigenious species like Hazel up in Scotland.

Nice view those pines grow really quick which = money.

Excellent shot Bulldog - beautiful view and like the composition with the logs in the foreground. I love the way you say you 'were quite surprised to see they had felled an entire forest'! Master of the understatement - that's you!!

Lovely scottish scene. I can almost smell the pine. If I remember there are always young saplings planted to replace the felled ones. Great composition.

Thank you all, the log piles were about ten foot high and stretched about 1/4 mile, and that was just the ones that they had collected up. there were plenty more down the hill.

Oh, goodness, I know that it is a grand view, but somehow it seems sad to see all of that timber piled up. I do hope they will replant!

Thank you all, it is a lovely place and I would have loved to have spent more time there this weekend. A total of 18 hours driving for just one day there, but it was worth it.
