Meet 'Ratty' the baby Skyrat that flu into my sons bedroom (first floor)window, bounced off and landed stunned on the patio yesterday.
He soon got up and started the wonder around the garden and we kept an eye on Shit-Head and Pig to make sure he wasn't eaten or sat on.
By the end of yesterday, he had taken himself up behind the large flower pots at the back of the garden and I think he has spent most of today, trying to ride his chest of Uplove and fly again.
Mummy Skyrat and Mrs B have be looking after him this evening but he still hasn't taken off again. He is flapping well, so we do not think he is injured.
He has taken himself back of to bed behind the pots again now, maybe he will fly off tomorrow?
What a delightful story in your usual dry- humour way !!--and a lovely shot -- I hope he will find the will to fly before he becomes a victim of some preditor !
I did suggest that I could break his neck, and then get some really good shots of the Red Kites coming down, but Mrs B (rightfully) said that I shouldn't.
Mind you, I could have easily broken his neck at 2:30 this morning when he was tapping on the patio doors and winding the dogs up!
Poor thing I hate it when birds fly into the windows many don't get up again. Hope yours recovers enough to fly away again a great capture he has a sorrowful face.
