Richard Phelps ~ 1729 by bulldog

Richard Phelps ~ 1729

Richard is my Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Granddad and is currently my oldest know direct relative.

The inscription reads:
IN Memory of Richard
Phelps died March
The 3 ~^~ 1729
Aged 76
Also Mary Phelps
His wife died....

The rest of the stone is below ground as it appears to have sunk over time but I know that Mary died on the 29th September 1748 aged 90
Wow! They were long lived ... especially for those days! So good that you can follow your ancestry.
