Jan 07: Macro

Meet my new friend, Woody the woodlouse.
This is my second photo session with my USB Camera Microscope and no woodlice were harmed in the making of this shot.

That's a great Christmas present Mrs. B. gave you!

Can't say this is pretty but you have captured the detail well!

This is a sweet shot. and yet gives me the creeps. Guilt I suppose because I have murdered too many of them as passengers on my firewood.

A camera microscope - Fun toy!

But a woodlouse - did that come with the camera as a test model?

Only Bulldog would play with a creepy lil' critter like that. I'd want to hurt it the moment it moved if I couldn't run in the opposite direction.

Ooh, there is all of Woody. Very interesting.

Is he/she lying on her back or standing on her feet. That is a pretty amazing macro.

Great macro!!!

I couldn't put the same disclaimer on my spider shot........but in my defence, it was an accidental death.
I like his antennae.

Great macro! I really thought that Woody looked handsome until I found out that he is a wood louse. What does a wood louse eat? When I think of louse, I think of the lice people get in their hair.
January 8th, 2013
ewww! now i am all scratchy, crawly and right before i go to bed!!
January 8th, 2013
I've always had a soft spot for wood lice and help them out whenever possible! You've done this one proud. Nice shot.

Hi Woody - forgive me if I don't look at this up big,,,,,,,,
January 8th, 2013
Haha! You've marooned him on his armour-plated back to keep him still!! Love the idea of @darrenboyj helping them out whenever possible, I do too especially when they are MAROONED on their backs . . .
January 8th, 2013
Or perhaps he isn't . .
January 8th, 2013
Oh wow! Love the details and textures. I feel itchy just looking at it. LOL. Awesome shot.
January 8th, 2013

January 8th, 2013
Ahhh... Are you going to keep him?
January 8th, 2013
Yuck yuck yuck.

When I was little, I used to call that a "wizzmouse". Wizzmouse is so much cooler! But you've done good with this!
