Can You Help

On my lunchtime walk today, I saw this large bush, about 4ft high by 8ft wide and all throughout it had these pretty flowers and colorful buds>
It did look like there were the same plant but I am not sure what it / they are.
oooh! There is an old rose there amongst the berries! With that growth at the top of the berries, they are not edible! But then I'm not going to eat the rose either!

Lovely capture Mr. B. It is Rosa Rugosa used for hedgeing. The large hhips can be used for syrup , wine and jelly.

Beautiful. The great thing about 365 is that there is always somebody who can help us out identifying plants etc.

Oh.... I like it - we had a hedge like this in our front garden in our last house. The flowers last such a short time but all the more special for that

Oh yes I agree it's a wild rose. They are so pretty at this time of year. When I was a girl I used to collect the rose-hips and was paid a shilling a pint. It sounds a bit archaic now, but they used to make rose-hip syrup from them.
