War graves

My grandmother’s brother pilot officer Alexander simons. Also the 11 men who died in his plane. Including the New Zealand crew member.
Always moving and a stark reminder to see war graves.

Here I go again:
Ole Kristian Valle Touching I have a special connection with Commonwealth war graves since I have been photographing for "The War Graves Photographic Project" https://www.twgpp.org I covered all war graves in the Faroe Islands and most of the war graves in Uganda. In the Faroe Islands there were a very good relationship between the Commonwealth soldiers, and specially the Scots (Lovat Scouts). The relationship between Scotland and the Faroe Islands is still very strong. I remember that I found one grave with a long man from Royal New Zealand Air Force

Alexander Simons information on the project: https://www.twgpp.org/photograph/view/4350481

I'm a veteran, and served with the UN in Lebanon in 1982-83

@okvalle interesting! My grand uncle Alexander simons died in the same air crash as a young NZ man called keane.. I researched the crash and even went to the crash site which is only 14 miles from here. All very interesting.
