Over 300 Years Old Family Turkey Platter

I belong to a Facebook table settings group that asked “what is your most sentimental piece?” This is mine. I remember my grandmother using it at Thanksgiving. My aunt said “Mother wouldn’t even let me wash it because she was afraid I might chip it. I was only 45 years old at the time.” 😁 The handwritten paper that accompanies it was written for a county fair in 1913. It says the platter is of English design and came from the old country in 1713. It also says the platter is to be kept in our own family. For now, the platter resides with me and it will be passed down to future generations of our family.
What a special thing to have. I like it’s decorative pattern.

Wow, what a treasure! I liked your comment about your mother wouldn't let you wash it when you were 45!
