Beautifully photographed. We have a local wood and go chestnutting about now. Also, love the roasted chestnuts on sale in London from now until Christmas. :-)

What a cool capture! I have never noticed them open like this. We always grabbed them and used them as weapons as kids! lol You have made them look beautiful.

@dulciknit .I think they fall off the trees,usually,before they open out.Maybethere hasn't been enough wind to blow them down.

ah chestnuts - reminds me of when I was young...we'd collect them on the way home form swimming training (me and my Dad) and bring them home to the open fire on a Sunday to roast for tea
