Angela(Angie) February 23rd 1944--September 7th 2014
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there-I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush
I am swift-up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry.
I am not there-I did not die.
My darling cousin Angie,so glad I was able to spend those last precious hours with you and the family.
You tried so hard to fight Myeloma, but after a Summer of remission, when you could enjoy life again,it came back with a vengeance.
Now,at last, you're free from pain, and flying with the butterflies.
Rest In Peace,Love XXXXXX.
My condolences, Carol. Sending you a virtual hug in this difficult time. I've always loved that poem and have once heard it put to music - reduced me to a puddle.
I am so sorry for your loss, Carole but how good that you and the family were able to be with Angie in her last hours here.
This is a beautiful tribute you have made to your cousing. Thinking of you and your family. xx
So very sorry for your loss, Carol. What a wonderful tribute. I have sent a card to a friend before with this poem on it. Love the words, so very beautiful. Thoughts are with you and your family.
