Didn't realise these birds have migrated as far as Northampton.I had previously heard of them in the London area.
We saw three of them in Abington Park, living in a hole in a tree trunk.they must have eggs or young,as this particular bird was chasing off a crow, quite viciously, which seemed determined to invade the nest.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and favs, always much appreciated.
Oh no Carol I hope they are the only three!! These birds have become such a nuisance in London where they seem to have taken over. We had them in Surrey where I lived in Redhill and you could hear them in the trees. Very pretty but they are taking over!! Not good for the local birds!!
Goodness I didn't realise they had reached Northampton. Will have to look out for them next visit as my Mother in law lives by Abington Park. Exciting to capture none the less.
