FROM DAVENTRY EXPRESS .... A police officer has been hailed a hero after using his body to break the fall of a man who emerged from the third floor of a town centre house last night.

Danny is recovering here at home.He mainly has whiplash, which is quite painful when he moves his neck.
Many thanks for all your messages and kind thoughts. He is totally blown away by all the press reports, tweets and texts.
I read about this and was so impressed with the bravery shown! You must be so proud of your grandson! Wonderful to hear such a great story about our wonderful police who too often get bad press!
Saw this on the news- a remarkable thing to do. I have seen stories where they catch children but the amount of weight from that height must have been enormous. He is for real a hero.
Such a selfless thing to do and so brave! I expect you're all bursting with pride and rightly so. Danny's a tremendous credit to himself, his family and the police force.
I hope Danny recovers from his injury soon and that the person he saved gets any help they might be in need of.
Wishing Danny a quick recovery.
