It's still snowing in Scotland... by casablanca

It's still snowing in Scotland...

....but we have the whisky to keep us warm! A visit to the Dalwhinnie Distillery today, which is the highest one in the country. We were planning to climb Ben Nevis today as Britain's highest mountain in solidarity with the trekkers, who should have reached Everest Base Camp today. Conditions on Ben Nevis were not good with too much steadily falling snow obscuring the paths and cliff edges, so we opted for something else "highest" instead and went for the distillery!!

Extras album has a shot from Loch Linnhe
Good choice! Ben Nevis will keep till another day.

and in Chicago! Woke up to find snow all around. The white on white is effective here.

Dalwhinnies Winters Gold Malt would suit the weather and warm the cockles. Say hello to Fort William for me.

The snow just doesn't seem to want to give up. It's been like that here, too. Great capture.

Fabulous image -- and fun to see the name, which is also the name of the little b'fast/lunch place on Beaver Island (which has a sister area in Ireland including Donegal Bay). Even the ferry is called Emerald Isle.

You must be a climbing family!! I would never think to climb Ben Nevis at this time of year! You must be wanting to be in tune with your climbing son. I think it might be a wee bit warmer where he is! Or perhaps not?

@chrisiow Fort William said hello back and promptly produced the loveliest clear blue skies. Clearly it likes you!

@happypat We do love our hiking! A tad early for Ben Nevis but we were going to see how far we could get anyway! Another time not somclose to Winter methinks! Curently around minus 13 where he is on Everest so he wins in the coldness stakes!

@casablanca My word that is cold! Hope he's fairing well!

@happypat Me too! No word for a few days and as he has no phone I am dependent on one of the other lads or school twitter feed! No doubt news will reach us again in a few days as they head back down the mountain. Can't wait to hug that boy again and hear his tales of adventure 😀❤️
