A master glassblower

Today in Murano, one of the islands of Venice, we stopped at one of the furnaces where glass is made and given shape. Only later I discovered that photo were not allowed.... I wonder why. I'm not going to make glass myself!
Oh no - but it’s a great image. Glass blowers are so clever.

@stimuloog Thank you Marloes! Glad you have been there in person. However I remember when I was much younger all the great furnaces were open and you could really see the blowing of the glass

Lovely photograph of an artist in action, concentrating on his work. The lighting is wonderful. I'm so glad you took the shot, despite the sign. I really can't understand why such places ban photos, as you say you're not about to set up a glass-blowing business.
