Olivia's first trip to the beauty salon started off with excitement, nervousness and even a few smiles like this one. Her hair turned out beautifully, but it definitely came at a price...and lots and lots of tears (hers and mine). The ladies in the salon kept asking me if Olivia was tender-headed and I said yes, because her mommy has been too tender-hearted to do the painful work of detangling her hair every day. Instead of scolding me, they all looked at me with compassion and almost all of them told me to be glad their mothers weren't doing the detangling, as they would've been much rougher than the young woman working on Olivia's hair. Except for the pain, it was really fun to spend the afternoon with all these wonderful ladies at the beauty shop.
